In general, there are two types of condenser, namely: 1. The air is saturated with water vapor, the water then passes through a cooling section where a mixture of vapor and air cooled condenser for later disposed of using water ejectors which serves to maintain the vacuum in the condenser. To eliminate dissolved air preformance condensate due to air in the condenser, do de-aeration. De-aeration is done in the condenser maytag neptune by heating steam condensate with air so that the condensate would evaporate terlalut. The air is then drawn into the water cooling section by utilizing low pressure that occurs in the water cooling section. Air ejectors will then move the air from the system. a. Horizontal konddensor condenser cooling water entering through the bottom, then into the cooling pipes and come out on top, while heat flows in through maytag neptune the center of the condenser and out as condensate at the bottom of the condenser. b. Vertical condenser cooling water entering konddensor through the bottom, then into the cooling pipes and come out on top, while heat flows in through the top of the condenser and out as condensate at the bottom of the condenser.
Spray Condenser In spray condenser, steam mixing with cooling water by way of spraying water into steam. So that the steam coming out of the exhaust turbine at the bottom mixed with the cooling water in the middle resulted in condensate phase approach saturated.Kemudian pumped back to the cooling tower. A portion of the condensate is returned to the boiler maytag neptune as feedwater. The rest is cooled, usually in dry-(closed-) cooling tower. Water is cooled in Cooling tower is sprayed into the exhaust turbine and the process repeated.
Disadvantages and Advantages Condenser A. Horizontal Condenser 1. Can be made with pipe cooling fins so relaif small and lightweight 2. Cooling pipes can be made easily 3. Simple shape and easy installation 4. Cooling pipe is easy to clean
B. Vertical Condenser 1. The price is cheap because it is easy to produce. 2. Compact due to the vertical position and easy installation 3. You could say it is impossible to replace the coolant pipes, cleaning should be done by using detergents
